The 13th International Oenological Competition “Emozioni dal Mondo Merlot e Cabernet Insieme” is about to start: the committees will start their work on Friday 20th October 2017 to taste and judge the samples and select the winners.
In two days Emozioni dal Mondo 2017 will start and here are all the numbers of this year competition.
More than 200 samples produced in 25 Countries have been enrolled in the Competition. The judges will taste wine from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovachia, Slovenia, South Africa, USA, and Turkey.
The judges called in Bergamo at Corte Berghemina near to Pagazzano Castle come from 30 Countries around the world. Technicians and journalists will get to Bergamo from Argentina, Austria, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Perù, Polony, Russia, Serbia, Slovachia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, South Corea, Sweden, Turkey and United Kingdom.
74 judges enrolled in the tasting session. Following the OIV regulation 51% of the judges are technicians and 51% are foreigners. The committees will be composed of oenologists, wine makers, journalists, web journalists and bloggers.
The 7 committees each of 10 to 12 members will be involved in the tasting sessions next Friday morning.
2 are the tours organized in the Competition program to show the international guests a new vision on Bergamo region and production. On Thursday afternoon the guests will enjoy a guided tour and tasting at Otus Artisanal Brewery in Pedrengo. On Friday afternoon, on the other hand, a tour and a tasting has been organized at the new headquarter of Il Cipresso in Scanzorosciate.
The symposium organized on Saturday 21st October 2017 in the Mosaic Room of Bergamo Chamber of Commerce focusing on the theme “Drink Your Territory and Be Healthy!” will have 5 international papers at show.
6 are Consorzio Tutela Valcalepio wineries taking part to BereBergamo special edition that will take place with the support of Bergamo Municipality at Porta Sant’Agostino in Bergamo.
In that same place the awarded wines tasting desk will open to the public to.
The tasting desk will be open on Saturday 21st October 2017 from 3 pm to 7 pm and on Sunday 22nd October 2017 from 11 am to 7 pm.
The wineries from Bergamo taking part to the event with their Valcalepio DOC and Terre del Colleoni DOC are Cantina Sociale Bergamasca, Cipresso, Tordela, Medolago Albani, QuattroErre and Tosca.
